Be sure to come early, as this race starts earlier than prior events, beginning at 5:30 pm in an effort to get the racing in while we still have daylight (on-site registration begins at 4:30 pm). The women of Iowa City Cycling Club have procured permission to use City Park to host the first ever Chamois Time Cyclocross. Here is a teaser of the proposed course, hope to see lots of fun havers next Wednesday!
Big thanks to all the racer, volunteers, and fine folks at Millstream Brewing who came together to make this new event a success. Despite the weather, in particular, water levels not cooperating with the original, planned course, everything came together to be a great event on a beautiful September day. Results are posted on the race page. Here’s to looking forward to next year!
Here are some photos our friend Paul took:
Despite our best efforts, we still can’t control the weather. And, despite a lack of recent rain, water levels along the original course are too high to safely run the race. As such, we’ve implemented an alternate route.
The alternate course will be an out and back format on Amana Road. Route map and details can be found here.
Dust off those cross bikes, and get ready for a guaranteed good time! Our sponsor Millstream Brewing is letting us host an event this Sunday, Sept. 6th. Come on out and ride some of the area’s most fun and challenging gravel around, check out the race page for all the details.
A big thank you to all the racers, volunteers, and sponsors who made yesterdays Iowa State Road Race Championships a great event.
Results are posted at USA Cycling.
