The women of Iowa City Cycling Club are proud to host two weekly Women-Only Rides, periodic training clinics, and the Wednesday night race series, Chamois Time.
**For information about rides and other events, please add yourself to our weekly email list via the box at the bottom of this page.**

Our mission is to get more women interested in cycling and racing; to provide a comfortable atmosphere for women to join, train, and race; to race with a large number of women; and to host group rides, training sessions, and clinics for any interested women in the greater Iowa City area.

Weekly Women-Only Rides
Rides open to ALL women. You don’t have to be a member of ICCC, don’t have to be a racer, just have to want to ride bikes, get sweaty, and have some fun!  PS – Don’t forget that helmet of yours!

MARCH – AUGUST
Road rides take place on Monday and Wednesday evenings starting with daylight savings in the spring. All rides begin at 5:45pm and leave from Geoff’s Bike and Ski (816 S. Gilbert St, Iowa City).

What to expect:
DevelopMental MondaysStart your week off right with a medium-paced, beginner-friendly, or recovery-based ride that provides an exclusive women-only environment. These rides are designed to improve your confidence riding in a group setting, get you fitter, make you faster, and get you race ready! Rides typically have a leader that will choose the route and be able to give pointers along the way.

Race-Pace Wednesdays: These rides are quick-paced, race-tactic focused, and occasionally have guest speakers to share their sage-like wisdom regarding racing and riding strategy. These rides are FAST and FUN and will help take your riding and/or racing to the next level! The endorphin rush will be guaranteed to leave you smiling!

SEPTEMBER – NOVEMBER
Gravel rides take place on Wednesday evenings beginning in September and end when daylight savings wraps (late October/early November). Ride leaves at 5:45pm from Geoff’s Bike & Ski (816 S. Gilbert St, Iowa City, IA).

What to expect:
Gritty Gravel Wednesdays: When the summer heat starts to turn down, that’s when gravel riding gets turned up! Starting in September, Wednesdays are dedicated to the almighty gravel.  Rides are quicker than the Monday road rides, more of an intermediate pace. Gravel bikes are highly encouraged.  As the days will be getting shorter, you’ll also need a good headlight and a smartphone with mapping/GPS, just in case the group breaks up.
